Fly into Liberia, CR. Rent car travel 30min sw towards Huacas and then Playa Flamingo. Take low road towards Flamingo Beach Resort. Once you pass resort connect to paralel beach road and turn left/U-turn around front of resort (the ocean will be on passengers side). 1/4 mile to the cliff house where you can park on this lava laidened point. The story gose that the lady that lives here pushed her drunken hubby off the cliff. So don't take in any after session Martini lunches. Atmosphere
A very finicky pt break with a small window of reception. It takes 170 to 200 S and surprisingly breaks after the swell has passed the stand-out spots. If your staying close by it's worth the short walk from the hotel for a serandipidous adventure.
General
It's a fun infrequent lava point break with plenty of tropical fish to keep you entertained between sets.

I should clarify - the man who owned the house was a major alcoholic and had lost his house key, so, absolutely blitzed, he tried to climb around the security wall and fell off the cliff to the lava far below. He was a mental vegetable ever after. The wife is a wonderful person (I met her) and had absolutely nothing to do with her husband's demise.

You'll probably never surf here - First of all, the beaches of Guanacaste are a pain in the ass to access. Either it's a long-ass car trek from San Jose, or a super sketchy prop plane ride (usually through bumpy storm clouds). Aside from the spots that basically require a boat, Flamingo point is even more remote.
My dad was doing business in Flamingo, so for 2 weeks, we stayed at the house right on point (the house you see in the background of these pics). The wave is ridable almost every day - it's fast and steep, but usually small. It breaks over razor sharp rocks/coral and really sketchy at lower tides. When there's actual swell, it can be quite good and peels a perfect fat/steep wall long into the bay. No crowds - friendly local surfers (stay off the streets and away from the bars at night - a lot of cocaine crazed/drug trafficking losers)
