park your car on the side of the dirt road. when its big, its hard to get out in the line-up. sets can break far out so always be watching. steep, fast, very powerful wave. undertow is dangerous.
Atmosphere
the atmosphere at this spot is pretty friendly. awesome black sand beach and it gets damn hot.
General
this is one of the best sandbar beach breaks i've ever surfed. surfed it when it was 5ft and when it jumped to 10ft+. must be in good position when paddling for a wave. sometimes gets tricky and has a slight current. when paddling out to the line-up. wait for the set to pass and paddle your ass off.

decent wave-long rides - I surfed this place in June every morning. Pros-Real consistent with long rides, no crowd. Cons-Long paddle through sometimes thumping surf. It doesn't look like it from the pictures but it is. If you hate paddling stay down at the tree. There aren't many people here either so remember that you will probably be on your own if anything should happen.
