The estuary is a classic. Can be a heavy beachbreak at times. Park at the El Presidente hotel, at the end of hotel strip in San Jose Del Cabo (you can park along the street there...public). Walk east toward the sign that says el estero. Walk down to the beach and head east toward your favorite spot. Pretty uncrowded with some GREAT surf at times :) I usually only see maybe 8 guys out max... and it is a large area. May be more crowded on weekends with good waves.
Atmosphere
Some locals, some expats, some californians visiting :) Mellow crowd. Watch out for sometimes gnarly riptides. The closeout section on the long left can physically grind you into the dirt on a big day. I just liked having a good wave with very few people around. No multiple drop-ins like further up the beach towards Cabo Surf hotel and such.
General
I wouldn't miss it, if in the area. Avoid the crowds/slow waves at old man's and hit up the estuary!

so good...so hepatitis - Stayed at El Pres for a week and caught a great hurricane swell (seems like every time I go to cabo there's a 'cane). Prior to my arrival, rain had broken open the estuary and setup an epic sandbar right in front. The wave was absolutely perfect...but the water was a bit smelly and brown. There was also another epic sandbar a mile or so east that was insane long. Surfed my brains out...then went home and died. Hepatitis will kill you, but you will reincarnate after about a week.
