when you are in ixtapa head out to Playa Linda, near where the late Club Med was. There is a groin there, head to the right and you will find a sandy beach with some pebbles at the end. - An underrated spot! Can go off in summertime! Rippable lefts off the rivermouth..somewhat similar to the ranch when it's perfect. Catch it during a solid south-southwest swell and I guarantee your opinion on this break will change. Peace!

fun, though nothing to write home about - Just returned from Ixtapa and surfed Playa Linda. Safe as all get out (considering whats been up, a bit north of here). Waves....good clean sets in the early to mid morning. It blows out bad by late morning and afternoon. Crowded, but their shifting peaks so we always had one to ourselves...mind you never the best ones but still a solitary peak for 2. While we were there the wave height never got above chest to shoulder high, and they werent too powerful or long. But with the right board and mellow attitude it was pretty fun. Dont go thinking your gonna get a racetrack down the line. But I can see it getting better on a decent swell, especially over the rocky bottom section that the locals usually ride. Oh, thanks for the hospitality to any locals reading this and to the dudes at Ixtapa's only surf shop. Your beach/home is beautiful, I was stoked to see that Mexico is as beautiful as any beach Ive been to in Indo, Oz, or NZ.

Playa Linda is good - I like that break. When it gets a little bigger the lefts open up and become a challenge...
Basically ride it when the other spots aren't quite working. Works from Knee high or better.
