Go to Tampico Beach called Miramar, go to the Jetty (Escolleras) going in south direction. When you get to the Jetty go west on the road beside the river, there you will find a big refinery, 5 minutes drive on your left side you will cross a railway track, 2 blocks after crossing the railway turn left going to the river.
Then leave your car the in a little parking lot were you cross in a boat called (Guachinangera).
Get in the boat pay 1.5 pesos per person to cross the river. When you get to the other side walk 30 to 40 minutes towards the beach following any small road.

I´ve surfed this spot for almost 10 year now, when the conditions are right it's really good, but it won't always works.

This year in October there was a sandbar that made some epic waves, really rear in the gulf perfect tubes. Crystal clear water, glassy with offshore all day.

Verashort is very good - Fellas, Im a local, I have 15yrs surfing in Verashore, Altamira, and Escolleras, all are good (when are on), but the best for sure is (Veracruz), we call it Vera-shore instead, congratulations for your description of the place, is incredible acurate, I am surprised, is missing one point close to tampico, I will pick up info. and pics. and I will submit, Gulf Coast in Tampico MX, is very fun for surf when is on, from Oct to May, depends on the weather...regards
