accommodation - Jeff33, pretty sure all of the accommodation in Gigante is owned by expats. most of the locals are fishermen, but all of the local business do employ locals in one way or another. I believe a local guy was beginning to build a small hotel 1/4mile inland in September, but don't think its open yet. Giants foot surf camp is closest, but there are some good/basic hostels in town as well. come check it out. August or September would be your best bet for this break

accomodation near Gigante - Hi, does anyone know os any accomodation near Gigante? I dont want any surf camp or anything run by gringos but would rather spend my money in a place owned and run by locals. Cheers

- Leandro, the closest place to stay is at Giants Foot Surf Camp. Not many locals surf around here, so any wave that is surfed is probably surfed by a gringo that you may call a kook. This wave doesn't break often, but when it dose its good fun. I agree with the description in the main post. If you want more info on the area contact us at giantsfoot.com.
