Atmosphere
This is one of the more popular spots in the Rincon area. The place can handle big swells. I've seen 20ft sneaker sets break here.
General
Awesome surf spot.

big surf here - I was just wondering if this spot is a little smaller than everywhere else on really big swells. If not, is there any other spots to get a good warm up session before hitting the good stuff, cause im going down when its guna be big.

Beautiful Maria!! - Marias is amazing! I visited Rincon on Jan 19, 2007- Jan 22, and the place was pumpin. When I arrived they were holding the ISA World Masters contest and the pro's were out there! On Friday the waves were at least 10 ft faces.. very powerful wave the paddle out was hell but once you caught a wave you were rewarded... one of the longest rides I've ever had. The reef is trecherous as well as the rip! the surfer out there are no joke so show respect! and you'll have the time of your life. I feel blessed to have gone there and see Maria at its full glory what an amazing wave!! Can make you a rockstar or part of the rocky reef... at full blast it is a humbling experience!!

The Best Right Pointbreak This Side of the World - If you get to ride it while its pumping, I'll bet ya you will most probably only dream of this wave (Its one of my dream waves for sure).
If its 3 to 6 feet be prepared to do a bunch of very long full rail bottom turns followed by all sort of crazy hacks and connection floaters you never dreamt you could do.
If it's 8 to 10 feet you'll feel your strapped to a rocket flying down the line. The wave is that good and more due to the variety of sections and takeoff points. I lived down there for 8 years and can tell you I've seen it peeling and tubing all the way down the bay without sectioning out (at least 300- 400 mts). Best times are from January to March.
