This spot is great: waves may be better here than at La Torche. But it doesn't support big waves as La Torche used to. Come here first, if it closes out, go to La Torche.
Atmosphere
The church of Troenen is a old and famous one. It is worth a visit!

Sssshh! - Ok, so it's getting busier. But only a little. This place is a dream. When the wind's not too strong (but even with an onshore, it can work!). After a big winter, the tail end of the beach gets banked up ang gives rise to a fantastic shore break to the left of the fort. A sponging classic. Right handers to die for. Not disimilar to spot M in north Cornwall. Don't spread the news too much, but when La Torche is zooed, get in the voiture and enjoy.

la torche vs tronoen - when la torche is pumping it its fuking great and an awsome wave, but when its not this place is worth a check it is a 10 min walk down the beach or a couple of mins in the car.also another thing is that ppl say pors carn fires and it awsome but i have been a local surfer in the la torche region for 9 years and it has never pumped for me!!!!tronoen is def worth a look at....and so is the Atlantic surf shop half way down the road to la torche not the 29 surf shop is it fuking over priced compared to Atlantic!!!!

ssssshhhh - Silly saying be quiet about somewhere then posting this; but hey, i need to share. Just had a totally epic week all along the baie d'audierne. This place was our oasis. La Torche has become way to busy with poseurs and wanky plankies. This little gem served up some superb glass on three days with no wind. 1.5-2.6m and lefts, rights, culminating with some awesome shorebreaks (ok, I'm a sponger, it;'s a fair cop!) at a super-high tide. Water was virtually empty and the vibe was über-chilled. If you don't know how to get there, then not telling you but find it, it's worth it. Only when the wind's right though!
