Playground - crowded when the surf conditions are OK. Many college students come and surf the aera. The beach is in center city, access is easy on a scooter with a board under his arm. Teens love this spot, easy, not far away, very accessible and surf potential. During school holidays or weekends it can become overcrowded. Lots of emulation

From a local - I just like going to Pontaillac, though it's always crowded, because it gives you the possibility to surf when you can't surf in the ocean because of the bad weather. And when it's dark, you can still be in the water : the lights of the city are there for you !!
Et restez zen !

It's a nice spot - I've been to pontaillac. Sometimes the waves are higher, faster and stronger than the ones in biarritz , ... but most of the time it's more like a place for spongers.

peace
