- the 2nd pic is of lacken rights at the end of the bay, only really works on a wnw swell direction, too much north in the swell direction it hits the whole beach and closes out,but when it is wnw it just catchs the end and the rights pump, just got it by chance the 1 time and was wicked, barrels, rips and a few close outs when 5ft sets came thru, lots of paddling, but worth the work

barrels - man lacken is sweet, got pitted off my nut, did'nt get out of one of them just watched half the beach close out from inside, wicked buzz, only me and a buddy in,loads watching, people too lazy to get in,it's hard work in there when it's over 4ft(don't think it can handle much more) you have to work you're ass off but you get rewarded with a few nice ones in between close-outs,I think all us irish are too used to nice reef break set ups and are'nt prepared to get in a paddle/duck dive until you're sick, but i'm not complaining,it's nice to have such a sweet wave to yourself

Locals in West Clare - I've been all over the world surfing, and I can tell you all one thing. There is not a f@#$ing thing wrong w/ a few local lads in Ireland sharring a few waves with whom ever. So the simple point is do not be a dick, and then maybe the lads in the pub or in the water will stay the way they are instead of turning in to dick heads like most "local" spots.

im a local - I think he means dont piss of the local residents by acting the dickwad. im a local who surfs and im fucking delighted to see other surfers enjoy the breaks. YOUR ALL FRIGGING WELCOME!

Locals - A local is just some dumb idiot with nowhere to go. Surfing is, and has always been about travelling and exploring new breaks and places.

"dont piss off the locals" - This idea of 'locals' being a higer form of surf life that are not to be messed with is something that amuses me. How would you piss a local off, what can the local do if you piss him off (if youre a competitive swimmer learning to surf and you accidentially drop in on a local and he goes for you, no matter how local the local may be, he will regret it) does the local think he has god given powers of control over his local spots. This warning about this spot was obviously posted by a local with ideas above himself, I have rarely come across a spot where there is anything but cooperation and appreciation for fellow surfers out enjoying the free for ALL waves, so mr toughguy local, watch out, Im coming to drop in all over your spot
