Located 500m north of Casal Borsetti.15km north of Ravenn driving along "Statale Romea 364". Best costal environment in the area. Park near the Camping Adria and walk East through bush. Fast long righthander with hollow sections breaking in front of the jetty and pealing along the sendbar. Works properly on S/E. Check it also with N/E and E but not as clean. Holds some onshore. Decent water. Best wave in the area. DistanceTake a car WalkShort walk (5-15 mn) Easy to find?OK Public access?Public access Special accessDon't know |

- Localism
Enter the line up from the right, or jump from the jetty on small days. The fisrst section breaks in front of the jetty and is allways slow, the wave then bends in and gets fast. The inside can offer some barrels. It's a very fun wave for shortboarders, the only hotdog spot in an area of mainly mushy waves. There's some localism but the guys are allright if you do not waste waves, behave cool and keep the place clean.
Beware of car thiefs (not surfers) and avoid leaving valuables in the car. Bring all you have with you and hide it in the jetty. You'll keep an eye on it from the surf.
Atmosphere
It's a fun place where locals hang around yearround. In summer we setup tents and camp, clean the beach and woods. Beau Young surfed it last october and had a great time in a day that was not even at it's top.
General
Best surf and best hangout in Northern Adriatic.

"surfing" cotignola - thanks for your reply, Nik.i just got back from Italy. there wasn't any swell around ravenna when i was there, but we ended up going to a beach between rome and napoli called sperlunga (spelling?), and we arrived to the sight of clean, chest-high lines rolling in and no one on them. a "temporale" hit somewhere, i was told. i didn't have a board though ("there's NO surf in August"). the next time i go to Italy i'm bringing a fish to stash in my in-laws garage! we had fun bodysurfing all day, anyway. regards, daniel

- Hallo Daniel. It is quite rare to have S-E swell in august but who knows.. if it happens that's the place. If it's a N-E swell (with wind) head to Marina di Ravenna and surf south of the arbour or to Punta Marina at Beach Bar 4 VENTI just a few ks south of Marina di Ravenna. Both are better with summer N-E or E silly swells. Ciao Nik

Brazilian - Hello folks.I could never imagine that could have surfing conditions in a place like Italy, i thought that the not so long extension of the ocean there would never provide surfing swells, how fool.I live in Brazil but I´m a italian citizen, since my grandfather was born in Napoles. I´m just waiting to finish my graduation in oceanography to try to live a few months there and I was always thinking: "God, theres no surf there". What a surprise to see great waves breaking in those photos, many of them even greater than many days in Brazil. I´ll be glad to surf there someday. Valeu!
