Atmosphere
A very local place.
Surf is rarely great, but when it's great its great. There a lot of kitesurfers, who are very annoying...

General
Zandvoort is a very specific Dutch surfspot. Difficult to surf because of its rough, unorganised waves. However not dangerous because of rocks or swell. Unfortunately, good winddays with good wind direction are vew. Mostly before and after summer season. In this case a good winter suit is required. When it really blows though, its a great spot where most trics are possible. Sometimes waves of about 3-4 mtrs high.
It's definatly not great, but its a good practice for the better waves.
When you can surf here, you can practically surf everywhere...

Nice swell but you have to be there when it hits !! - My last day in was the 20th of October. One of the best days of the year but certainly not the only one, zandvoort has almost the same waves as in the rest of holland only it is less crowded. That means if you hit the right spot (you can choose between like 10 spots to go in) you're on your own and nobody else will be present. At the right of the beachclub the 'spot' there's a pretty good one only crowded with locals and amateurs.Further to the left(southern direction) there's another spot in front of 'route 16' with the same wave quality..You just got to check it out for yourself and judge..
