Marina side of town and clearly signposted. Free parking all over the place. It's the big beach in lagos the other side of the marina. 20 min walk from town (over the bridge) 5 second paddle over the marina entrance! (watch the boats). Its a popular beach, so its normally crowded in summertimes. DistanceIn the city WalkInstant access (< 5min) Easy to find?Easy to find Public access?Public access Special accessDon't know |

- Localism
Parking no problem. Free parking in several car parks right on the beach and behind beach bar near marina.small place to park on the very right hand side of beach if facing towards the ocean and parking near restaurants on the beach.
Atmosphere
this wave is fun to go to because its a very different wave from the west coast. the beach is about 5k's long so no need to worry about crowds, the very right handside is probably the best place to be but its always crowded and the locals are usually marking their place there. not consistent so a lot of the time it just looks like a family beach! Pictures are proof that it does work. Spent two weeks travelling from Lagos each day in search of surf, but best surf of the whole holiday was the evening I spotted Meia Praia going off from the balcony (in July!!). Classic session!!
General
it doesnt work very often, but Lagos is the perfect base from which to explore the surf in the Algarve. Bonus to return in the evening and find a quality wave on your doorstep! it more or less always has off shore winds though so it creates lovely crisp waves when firing. fast and clean with no hazards at all. (loved it) when it worked!

u gringos, shut the f*ck up... - u guys probably has been in Lagos for 2 weeks and ur saying that algarve doesnt have waves?! shut up... u guys dont even know algarve or meia praia so dont say anything, let the locals speak. first of, meia praia rarely has some waves... sometimes its 0.5 meters, or it can be 1.5 meters... it all depends on the day... and if u go to sagres u will find waves as well... so shut the fuck up before saying any sh*t in here...

Not a good spot, still good - I must agree, this is not a good spot for surfing. Anyway this might be the one place you'll find to impress girl's that want to be impressed. If u realy want to surf, SAgres has the best spots, but this is a "teaching" beach, this is a beach that servers to introduce people to surf. Awsome beach in the Summer, and the best waves in the Winter-Spring. Catch it up! C ya!

i had fun - we based our selves in Lagos for a bout two weeks while taking trains all over europe. i scored chest to head high waves here two days. it was clean and fun with a mellow scene. but once i met some irish dude with a rental car we cruised the west coast for a few days and got a lot of good surf. bigger, more paddeling, more heat from locals, barrels. good times. id go back for sure
