point break and beach break - paço de arcos is a very interesting spot, on the beach itself theres a hollow wedgie beach break very atractive to bodyboarders allthough surfers will find it to be a fun hollow wave for easy barrels, but the real gem lies some 200mt to the west, a point break wich breaks to the right, very perfect and hollow, it works with southern swells or with gigantic west/northwest swells, offshore winds come from the north quandrant (N, NE, NW), west winds hit the spot side shore making it a nice alternative because all the spots in the area suffer onshore with this conditions, in a nutshell: hawsome spot to surf allthough it works just a few days a year.

A wall is NEVER a point break! - There's a classic wedge action wave here ONLY - like w/breakwater's or jetty's CROSS WAVE EFFECT - yet there NEVER was A POINT BREAK HERE, & you can't 'make' a point break from building a seawall like this one; no matter how old it is or how high either!! Wake up wedgie-boys, since A MINI-WEDGE break IS ALL YOU CAN EVER GET@PACOd'ARCO'S!!!

- I live 3 mins walk from the break. Point break off wall (left) and a wedge towards opposite side of this small beach. Really only for body boarders (shallow, small waves). Effluent (treated) can often be smelt in water. For surfers: if its breaking here at all you are always better going up the rocky coast (west) slightly.
