you can park your car rigth in front of the wave.
there´s no sand beach around so you migth want to check your leash before you go out. there´s a chanel to paddle and its normaly safe.
Atmosphere
its a powerfull wave, pointbreak, if you make the drop then its easy to surf it. 3 sections: very fast and hollow drop, then the waves gets slower and in the final section you´ll get extra speed again!! beware of rocks in front of you.

be carefull - In february i was there and i see very very long right wave so i decided to go surf with my 6.6 and i didn't see the power of the ripps at the begining.....This wave could be perfectwithout ripps, i was in the ripps and the problem is you have rock every where ! i go in the water within the harbour but, when i was at the line up the ripps take me toward the ilha de pesseguiro, so i decide to go out but where it's reef every where and i start to drift toward the ilha but there is a place between Porto covo and ilha where the wave are more big and powerfull. This day i break my surfboard in the rock... and since this day i don't go surfing alone place like this.... i spoke with people of Porto covo they says there were accident very often with surferso think before go surf there
