Additional Information
You can get in the harbour, paddle through the boats and in to the harbour boat exit, contour the big fat rock with black birds in it (don't get caught by the set close to the rock, or you'll turn black sea bird food), and your at the point. If it's big (more than 2m/6ft), it's a bit scary getting out of the harbour (big walls of water coming in) you have to time the sets perfectly. You can always paddle from the rocky beach (beware of pointy rocks that really cut), but it's longer and you have to get through the close-out section. The wave is long, a bit fat, with the ocasional tube. Fun and easy to surf. With more than 2m/6ft it gets harder...

Atmosphere
In winter weekdays it's empty. You find youself surfing good rights, really far away from land, in the middle of the sea with no one out. Kind of scary and great feeling at the same time. In sunny weekends can be crowded with not so friendly crowds. Keep to yourself and there's no problem. There's also a right pointbreak in front of the parking (called "Marrocos"), but it's rare. For all the big riders out there, there's a wave that breaks left 500m south of Canal das Barcas, called Montanhas (Mountains!)which is perfect for tow-in. You can be surfing Canal with 2.5m/8ft, and see Montanhas breaking far outside with 5m/15ft... It as no size limit, so if you have the guts...

General
Very nice to relax during weekdays. Nice easy rights if it's not to big. Hollower in the low tide, and fatter at high tide.
