This is a long often hollow left hander. Be carefull not to take off too deep as you will be picking your teeth out of the rocks. Dont try to paddle through thee break, insted use the rip and paddle around it. Works best on large northern swells. Allways works even when swell is messy as break is located inbetween piers. Dont even waste your time checking it if it is a small swell.

South Shields Surfer - Or could it be simply that they did get in that day and it was that perfect. The type of comments below only demonstrate frustration and small mindedness towards others. I love to hear that fellow surfers got in when it was perfect... It's irrelevant whether they met 'cool kids' standard of a performing monkey... Travel a little further, look a little wider and dont forget surfing not about bitching or sniping at your fellow surfers from the anonymity of a computer screen. It's about riding waves and sharing with friends...

dont be a hero - I love it when people talk about surfing this spot. "oh i got in the middens today, it was perfect" They only do so to make themselves look cool or pretend they are good. You know who you all are. kooking it all the way. There are only a handfull of people who can surf this spot properly. u know who u are.
