Additional Information
Much underated by the locals, the swell needs to be a fair size to make it round filey brigg, it holds about the same size as southbay scarborough, but does not get the same protection, ie if Cayton is 5ft then Primrose will be about 2ft, depending on swell direction the more east the swell the more primrose valley will get. On road between scabs and brid look for the primrose valley haven signs then drive right into the campsite and park on the left on top of the cliffs.

Atmosphere
It rarley gets crowded, simple reason being everyone thinks it's bad, it's not, it has some real punch waves, not fast not hollow just a nice shape to work, weave and carve to bits.
Tends to back off at high tide, and your almost always guarenteed to get the beach to yourself, if south bay scarboroughs clean but heaving then head to primrose, it is always mellow but long rides are possible, it never gets really heavy even when it's big, but it has enough umph to make anybodys day.

General
It's very underrated by locals, but can be a classic afternoon of quilty chilled out surf. It always look small from the car park, if it looks about 1-2ft when you get down it will be headhigh and quality.

Great sessions... - As we all know, the holiday season is in full swing. All the tourists have stolen our waves in Cayton and Scarborough.. But not to worry, for some people this is the only surf they will get all year, so let them enjoy it and dont be bitter, they're probably having a time of their lives. I surfed numerous locations in Filey Bay (including Primrose Valley) last Thurs/Fri. It was great to see a clean wave and I had most of them all to myself. The only exceptions were a few guys i would expect to see during the winter months. So, in short, i totally agree with Douglas's comments and if you just drag yourself away to the quieter spots you'll have an awesome session and everybody can share.. There's plenty of waves for us all out there!
