this spot has 3 breaks (the cove, the bowl, and the point)the point is a left hander with the odd right that breaks down the point at the north tip of brimms reef. The Cove is a little slab that runs into deep water then a wall of reef. Then the bowl, on high tide, is a slabby wave with a secondary ledge that gets super heavy and shallow. The bowl is the best wave but the cove can be ok too. The point is best on low tide when the bowl isnt surfable.
Atmosphere
this is 1 of the most powerfull reefs in the uk and it picks up pretty much ay northerly swell. Brimms ness is the place 2 go if everywhere else is flat

- A lot of time you'll be on your own to surf in this area, that's why there's nobody around...that day specifically all the guys had left to surf Thurso, which needs a bigger swell to work and was a bit calmer.
The bowl is not really surfable above 14 feet, at least not that I heard of but that would truly be kamikaze, the left hold bigger swells, I'd say it should hold up to any size regarding it's location but I'm not a local either..

it's heavy - Surfed the cove one day and it was 2ft most places rount that area and too small for thurso, rocked up at the cove and it was overhead+ and HEAVY as hell. I took one on the head and got an absolute kicking! can't wait to have another crack at it.
