RENT/BORROW A SURF BOARD - I was born on the Island and moved to California when I was 21. I have been here 20 years and currently live in San Clemente. I get back home about once a year and always check out the surf when I am home. The last 2 times I was home the surf was fantastic and I sat on the beach wishing I had a board. Is there anywhere on the Island that rents boards? Anything from 7'2" to 7'6" is what I normally ride but I am extremely flexible if someone can help me out. I think I will be home in August and if anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. In return, if you are ever on vacation in So Cal I will take you to Lowers or Church and show you the cleanest waves you have ever seen. Check out this website to see how good this place can get and how consistent it breaks. Church breaks at least 150 days a year and is totally uncrowded in the week. In the winter it breaks the best and it is still 70 degrees air temp and 60 degrees water temps. I am not looking for a free ride but would love to be able to say I surfed where I grew up. By the way, you cannot beat the beer and the curry in England! Thanks and I hope to catch some waves this summer.
