- Man-made danger (buoys etc..)
- Pollution
Parking is VERY CLOSE, there's even an RV park. It's relatively easy to find...just drive on IH until you run out of land.
Atmosphere
It's an easy wave when it's there. It's a fun place to learn if you don't mind a little grime and the constant roar of the jet engines landing and taking off. (It's in the take off and landing zone of one of the world's busiest airports) Oh, and don't mind the black sand. It is natrual and kind of cool.
It's never really ultra crowded which makes it a nice place to learn and kick back after the sun goes down.
There are a few locals/regulars they're actually pretty amiable (albeit weird) guys. They are harmless and in many occasions helpful and fun.
General
Fun to learn cause it's not to intimidating and it's an easy paddle out, not really a great home break. The pollution can be a problem!

local knowladge - well the only thing south of the RV park is The Pipe witch judging by the angle of that shot was taken from a jetty or fishing pier and there is 2 or 3 fishing piers and 2 or 3 jetty's so check it at a low tide it can get epic down there with only a coupe of guys out everyone else is either just surfing the overcrowded El Porto jetty and El Porto it s normally a bit smaller down that way but only surfing with 4 guys its worth it.

Ray, ALOHA! - Ray. ALOHA!This Kai from the Big Island of Hawaii (Kona)I frequently drive down from Dockweiler on my way back to home (Torrance)And I was wondering what part of Dockweiler beach did you find the epic barrels? Was it south of the RV parking? Or North of it? Or was it just a little bit North of Grand Avenue parking lot?I heard that once in a while, you can really find unrealbarreling waves. Doesn't happen often, but it does.I would greatly appreciate any info that you may want to share with me.Mahalo!
