Additional Information
Atmosphere
the southside of san clemente island is a live bombing range and is classified as either hot or cold. one must boat to said spot and radio in advance to check if area is being bombed or hot.
after clearance one must count on friendly military patrol boats that will allow you to anchor and surf the spot. anchoring is at own risk, as there are live bombs and ordnance on the ocean floor, hills and surrounding area. i drove my vehicle down the mine swept road and prayed that the road was safe. to enter via dirt road, one must know someone internally.

General
this spot is rumoured to be epic on big south swells, with a big rock takeoff and lined up shoulder that peels into pyramid coves beach. i surfed 200 yard lefts that broke over cobble at take off and pealed perfectly a over sandy/rock contoured bottom. rumours of fisherman lowering anchors on live ordnance and disintegrating. beware! ordnance spontaneously combusts on the hillside during summer months and cause massive fires. very dangerous.
