Atmosphere
I live right up the street, and surfed there for 20+ years and it can get really good. Blows out by 10am. The surf is mostly walled with pick and choose corners. It's a nice wide beach with bathrooms, but hardly worth the $15 State Park entrance fee. I bike/surf there when I'm too lazy to ride to the Pier or the River Jetties where it is much more consistent and bigger. Blackballed all Summer!

General
In general it is an ok wave with some corners, but always steep and fast. The waves are not long, but super fast, powerful, and fun. But it can also be very walled, and full of rips. Pick your days and times.

Hey pretty bird it's FAGS like u that SUCK! - You can determine whether or not it's not walled-off by checking it each time you'd normally just pass it up between Hb & Nb checks. It isn't ever crowded so it DEFINATELY merits the time it takes to simply pull over & climb up on top of your car to see if it's happening! Once you've gotten it good there you'll learn this simple truth about surfing northern OC!!
