Don't forget your cord. When the surf is 5+ The rocks ALWAYS destroy loose boards and if you are trying to swim in, the inside rip takes you southwest and the outside rip takes you northeast so you just circle around untill someone calls the Lifeguards.
Atmosphere
Great spot to bring the girlfriend who wants to watch or photograph you surfing. Although this surfspot can hurt you in many ways. The lineup is tricky and the wave is similar to Haliewa without the death rock.
General
There's better surfspots nearby just keep driving.

crowds - when you arrive at the cliffs, your like, shiii!!! everybody & their mom's is out surfing! just walk down south a bit and the crowd will get smaller. otherwise, go when it's big! then you'll see a handful of surfers & a lot spectators. this place has it all. barrels, steep mush-burgers, & kiddy land for the beginners. paddling out can be a bitch because it's a long paddle out.

Jersey Point !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - One of the Mushiest waves at the Cliffs. To top it all off a bunch of transplants who hang out is the parking lot think their local. Just because you've lived here since 1986 does not make you a local your still a kook from New jersey or Texas. Thank goodness this wave filters out a lot of goons from surfing the real waves at the Cliffs.

oh osprey - Theres definitely better waves at the cliffs. BUT at least this spot rarely gets clogged with longboarders. Getting in and out at a low tide is not hard. higher tide, big day? better not surf here unless you are a really strong swimmer. getting out of the water is challenging. Youtube has some video that will show you why.
The wave mostly goes straight and the inside can barrel. Sometimes this spot will be more consistent than the other waves around. But it never goes unnoticed.
If you take the left you could end up in the endless duckdive.
