Lefts and Rights is one of many great surf spots in the Hollister Ranch. The ranch is only accessible by car if you know someone who lives there. The property is private and the locals do not appreciate outsiders. Locals park their 4WD on the beach in front of the break. This is the most consistant Ranch wave and also the most crowded. Do not attempt to park your boat near the reef or walk in- a five mile walk from Gaviota- and surf. Everyone knows everyone and you will not be able to hide in the lineup. It is one very compact peak that breaks on a track and peals off in perfection for fifty yards. This wave breaks year-round which is very unique at the Ranch.
Atmosphere
General
If you want to surf the Ranch, be really nice to as many Santa Barbara surfers as you can. Eventually, someone will invite you because the place is too special to keep to themselves.

Always wrong info, the tale of two breaks not one - The most localized and crowded spot in the Ranch is "Rights & Lefts". located north of Utah's reef & South of St Aug. Surfed many times between 70 - 85. wouldn't bother surfing there now. I'm just to old to deal with the attitude. Rights and lefts is controlled by the ranch owners. Lefts & Rights is located North of St Aug. and South of Coho reef. This wave is a nice peak the goes long and hard to the left, with a shorter hollower right. not as many pissed off locals back then. Always had a good time at that spot, its only one of two lefts at the ranch. If you read this and hate, sorry but you don't own the waves. GET OVER IT

Rights schmights - Man, I'm dislectic, Is it rights and lefts, or, lefts and rights? Anyway, I've surfed it before. Had to scold some guys for runnning me over and popping my donald duck inflatable surfriding mat. Ranch locals are scary. So are caterpillers (ick) and lady bugs. Welp, see ya' later.

Rights and Lefts?? - I think the spot described here is actually "Rights and Lefts", not "Left and Rights".
