On a good swell the right will take you far in, so be ready for some good paddles. Pick up some trash when your there.
Atmosphere
Watch for residents of the ranch, you will be fine once your in the water. Pick up some trash before you leave. Oh ya the cows own the trails.

not sure about this - I have been to the ranch several times to surf. each time i have been there governments has been either small and boring or big and super mushy and unorganized, while other spots close by will have fun waves. this spot never impressed me much.

hiking into the ranch.... to gov point - hey i am thinking about hiking into the ranch for the first time, i heard it's an easy one from goleta to razors in the winter when the swell is on, but how about from jalama to gov point? Anyone done it recently? would do so in the dawn and pack up at night. how is security? would i get screwed... can't get screwed... i heard from the railroad tracks there is a road alongside that takes you all the way there. any advice?
