oh, the memories!!! - i lived in sb a few years ago and worked at the local surf wax manufacturing plant in carp. a few of my coworkers lived in la conchita. the rest of them bought their herb from there. the atmosphere of the town itself is sort of earie, like out of a stephen king novel. but the waves there are so fun. and if you're up for a walk, head a mile south to little rincon (i think there's another name for it. i forget what it is.) i think it breaks on really big northwest swells. being that it has limited access, the crowd is (or was seven years ago)also limited. but the point there is, as the name states, a miniature version of rincon.
