- Rocks
Nice point break when breaking! Needs to be at least 4 ft swell. Great beginner spot.
A winter break that doesn't work as often as we'd all like because it needs a direct west swell. The Channel Islands block summer south swells, and steep northerly swells don't hit right.
Atmosphere
As far as campgrounds go, Refugio has it all for ocean folk - a potentially fun little point break, awesome fishing / kayaking / kelp forests to the north and south, a great beach, great camp sites, RV hookups, a beer store, etc ... but beware ... it's notorius for being the toughest place to reserve a campsite during peak season, Even when we try to plan ahead, we get somehow get screwed, their reservation system is lame-o.

Rocks - Personally I am not a fan of Refugio, there's like one little area with breaks and there's nothing but rocks in the water, you will fuck up the bottom of your board/fins if you ride the wave to far in.

gnarly foo loc - Dudes, heed my warning, foobar cna and will beat you down, hard. I've ben held down for 2-3 seconds till I popped up in a gnarly foam bubble. The kid with the flotie on was blown away I made the drop. My friend towed me into some pits from the beach. Ijust held on to the kite string till his jog matched the ewaves speed. (Don't try this Laird Hamilton). Local knowledge is a must. Later bros.

fubar local - Hey dudes, Iinvented a fubar board. It has wheels on it so I can go over the rock section. It's pretty much the best board I've ever seen. I'll be surfing with a football helmet on cause my brains are partially exposed. Later bros.
