Temperamental spot. - Nice opening message Mr. anonymous. Unfortunately Rockpile can hardly be surfed every day. Although it is surfable on most decent swells, it breaks with awesome shape maybe six or eight times a year. I watched it for years from a distance while surfing sands. I then watched it for about a year from close up, trying to figure out where the most dangerous rocks and old piling stumps were. It breaks at pretty much every tide - the best take off spots just move around. I've been surfing it regularly now for several years and I don't recall seeing the same person out there more than once. I've surfed it many times alone. At this point there really are no locals.

this place rules - rockpile has no locals. I beat one of the "locals" up yesterday because he said that i cut him off. all of his friends tryed to drow me but i then proceeded to beat the shit uot of all of them. rockpile is an epic wave with no locals, no sharks, plenty of waves, so surf it everyday.

- is this that point (or like point-like setup) at the end of ellwood beach? i've seen lines come in there while surfing sands but i've never surfed there, i plan on scoping it out this winter if there are enough solid west swells
