dont surf here if you are not 100% sure of your abilitys.Frustration, because it never breaks. When it does break, serious injury is possible, from the rocks and from other surfers. Also, arrest by the Harbor Patrol.

Annoying... - The harbor is for expert surfers. It only breaks a handful of times a year, and when it does, it grinds out some of the steepest barrels right in front of a rock groin. There is hardly a back to this wave and it purely drains. I've sucked my thumb in the channel watching pros get donuts out there, washed up onto the jacks. If you're sitting next to a pipe that "spits sewage" out at you, you're not surfing the harbor. That is a man made sand bar that also rarely brakes. That foul smelling water that is being spewed out is from the sand that is dredged off the bottom of the harbor. Rotted fuel, dead organisms, some poor yuppie's sunglasses from willow glen are all being moved out of the harbor and spit out south(east) of the little jetty so boats can get in and out after the San Lorenzo pumps sand out blocking the harbor. Purely a token surf, at the Murph. By the way, when the pipe jumps ut of the water and spits, they're pumping air through the line so the pipe doesn't get burried and clogged. Careful going left.
