just park your car in the big parking lot and hop out, on small days it will be about 6 inches to a foot bigger right beside the pier on the left side, on the right side theres a nice sandbar infront of the gulfarium that works on anything from waste to head high
Atmosphere
the weather is usualy nice, the break is a nice steep take off with a lot of sections to hit and then it mushes out a little and reforms into a fun little shorebreak, i got my first barrel here. but watch out, theres a group of little punk locals who think they own the place because they are friends with the older locals, watch out they are pretty mean people but if u show them respect then they respect you. this is one of the most localized spots on the panhandle
General
great wave, mean locals, deffinately worth it

Last 2 shots on second page are in Destin! - Grant it the first page of photos probably are the pier but the last 2 on the second page are Destin (Pompano Joe's to be exact). I think I should know because it's me sitting too damn wide in the next to the last shot. We have to get our props here in Destin somehow.

local punks - this is a pretty fun spot, but i must say the locals here are such little idiots. i once surfed here on a knee-waist high day that wasnt good at all and a local kid jumped off of his board and started fighting somebody and holding their head underwater while screaming obscenities. it was by far the worste case of surf rage i have ever seen and made me pretty embarassed for the kid (who was only about 17). after that he was laughed at and made fun of and ended up leaving the water. the break is pretty good but there are just as good of spots just to the west and east such as the jetties or the navarre pier. but if you are in the area i'd say give it a go. just watch out for the black guy who thinks he owns the place and the surf/skimmer kids who think they are going to be upcoming pros one day.
