Pleasantly Surprised - I learned to surf in open Atlantic and so I had super low expectations when I had the opportunity to surf Texas once again. Packery was incredibly fun on both sides of the Jetty and it's great to have both options depending on the wind. The carts showed about 4 ft at 7 seconds and there were proper set waves coming in and peeling nicely off the outer sand bar. Longboarders are a pain (sorry, guys) and made it hard to get the sets, but if you're lucky... And the localism is not bad at all. I thought the vibe was pretty friendly and mellow.

haha - where are ya'll gettin this stuff from? packery is a fishing spot where a few surfers come every once in a while. i go there almost every weekend i've seen it packed with surfers a few times and never once have a seen a punch thrown or even an argument. other than when the surfers cross over fishin lines and thats nothin serious. and there's not a whole lotta sharks to be caught there either. no man eaters for sure haha. sharks will attack you?

Gnarly bru... - This place is mental. I broke ten boards in one sesh, totally shredded this awesome rock-bottom break, though. Be careful because sharks will attack you inside the barrels if the "locals" don't get you. Bring your helmet and reef booties if you want to even stand a chance. This is where Eddie Aikau got famous, brah. Gnarly, shreddin, killer, epic, tubular.
