You need a boat to get to Redfish Island which is located in the Houston Ship Channel. The key to this fun spot is to watch the shipping schedules. When a large ship comes in, paddle out and get a nice 6 footer. Doesn't matter which side of the island you're on, as long as the ship passes nearby. Fun for those flat Texas summers! Didn't blow it - How could it be a secret if it was talked about in Surfer magazine way back in the early 90's? Besides, most folks can't find it so don't worry. It'll never get crowded.
