Maala'ea is considered to be the fastest right in the world. One of the best wave on the planet,but don't plan your trip around it because it rarely breaks. Watch for big New Zealand swells.

Someday - i want to come to Maui and surf Maalaea.You guys are so blessed with awesome surf.Consider yourselves fortunate, save some for me.

dont bother - Just so you all know, Sept 15 2005 was as good as Maalaea has ever gotten in recorded history, won't happen again for another 20 years. If you're on this site thinking about coming to Maui to surf this place good think again, it's the rarest wave in Hawaii by far and when its on the locals are absolutely ruthless. Not to mention you have to REALLY know how to surf to even make the drop and pull in and have any chance of coming out. All in all, don't even bother....Aloha
