Slow break, nice for beginners. Like White Plains, but not nearly as crowded. Plenty of parking right on the beach.
Atmosphere
Very friendly, people say hi in the water. Never seen more than 6-8 people in the water.
General
Nice place to learn without the crowds.

Not bad, not bad at all - This spot works OK on a S to SW swell. Never crowded and never too big. Guys hunting Tako on the inside with three prongs and keiki's out in the lineup having fun. Watch out for the child molesting Army guy in the black jeep though if you bring your kids and surf when your kids are on the beach building sand castles. Real sicko!

Good when surf's up - I've surfed Oneula [Hau Bush] beach every couple of days for the last 12 years. When the surf is up, the Oneula waves can break so far out that the surfers look like dots on the horizon. Oneula is on the south shore but right where the island turns a corner to the west side so we get a break all year round. There are grays and hammerheads out there but only one attack in the last 10 years.

Army Guy Molesting Children - Hey bro / that guy surf at Barbs all the time in a Black Jeep. Somebody needs to tell his uncle he is doing bad stuff to kids. His uncle will jail him or at least get him off our island. I am in the Air Guard and seen his sticker. He is an officer or bought his Jeep off an officer cuz the sticker is an officer sticker.
