Has it's 3 star moments - Oh yeah, the crowd factor may go up big time here, and if you care, please check out...www.defendoahucoalition.org...and contact Hawai'i state reps (even if you are haole, or I should say, especially if you are and you care about keeping open spaces open, because our state politicians sometimes don't listen to locals concerns about them and tourists wanting at least some open spaces to help them relax). Mahalo!

turtle bay - turtle bay isn't better than v-land but if you know when to go it is a good wave.... nice long boarding wave.. if you try and shortboard there, then you are dumb. but the wave on the right tide and swell on a lonf board can be legendary..a hui hou ~Justin

Turtle Bay - It used to be an uncrowded spot but every time I surf it it's crowded with byu students and North shore spillover now, It's got its moments but mostly a mellow wave. I hope they don't build more hotels here, It's a beautiful place but way more crowded than years past. The best waves are uncrowded ones. So go surf somewhere else instead of crowding up this spot for da boyz.
