WE 2 - When the wedge jetty broke good it was AS good as any spot on earth. There are many pictures around that will prove it,most of them are older than most of the posters on this site. Most of the comments on here are from people who have never seen it break mediocre let alone break on an all time day.I'll say it again too, as good as any good surf spot in the world, overhead, sometimes double and triple overhead top to bottom perfection with not a drop of water out of place. The real attraction to WE 2 when it was good all the time was that a west wind was blown out at almost every spot on LI and the jetty/groin blocked all of the wind.Picture flatness on an average day yet chest high perfection in the corner with no one out at times on a frequent basis.I could go on and on, I almost lost my life there and was paralyzed and flow out by helicopter, had to have my airway pried open with a piece of driftwood and I'd still do it all over again. That's how perfect the place used to get.Oh yeah, I have been to HI. numerous times and been to Puerto, I've grown up at the beach so I know good waves when I see them just in case there was any doubt about my credibility.Actually I question even responding to this post but you have to understand that WE 2 to some of us was like a religion. I have to defend my spot even though it almost killed me.
