Atmosphere

theres usually noone here but surfers because the beach right next to it is a public access beach where everyone swims. usually there are some locals just out for a good time, most of them are just some kids from high school. they go out around 4 in the mornin before school, and almost every weekend.

love surfin westport when - when its huge and blown out or closing out at bakers. you can always find them pealin at shandies. or go for a lil trek around gooseberry island and you could find some hidden tresures. i once went out to the reef hens & chickens. off gooseberry. it was lonely big and scary. surfin far away from the coast. its alot of work. there is alot of satisfaction diggin for that surf spot thats perfect and noone else is on. ive been livin in daytona beach florida. these waves are played and charted with nothin but sand bars.
i love new englands array of beach rock and even a couple of reef breaks. you cant beat its ridged coastline. from westport ma to matunuck ri.
so dope.

Wide variety of waves in a very small area. - If there is considerable sized swell coming into this area, Bakers is usually largest, but it gets to a point where the paddle is very exhausting, and if the wind isnt working out its next to impossible. But, if you just explore around Gooseberry Point, im sure youll find a great wave. This area has the great ability to work with most winds. The wrap-around can be incredible...if you find the right spot. Also, it definitely beats little Compton on the crowd factor, but Little Compton rocks.
