Additional Information
This is the Chesapeake Bay so you are only going to get waves here when it is Maxed out in surrounding 'oceanic' beaches such as Virginia Beach or the Outer Banks. Catch it and you can forever tell your friends about the time you surfed the Chesapeake. Lots of Jetty's and some pier structures. Not very powerful but on the right conditions you could slash and get your picture in the local paper, 'Big waves hit the bay'!

Atmosphere
There are definately a set of locals that are just waiting for a little ripple to appear at Buckroe. Out of control windy conditions and you are sure to find so surfers coming from VA Beach. It's a long stretch of beach so you could walk along the boardwalk and find you own little peak.

General
Definately not a major surf destination or a vacationers paradise. You either have to pray for a strong NorEaster or hope that a hurricane skirts the cost. Catch a wave there and you will be laughing all the way home!

question! - Hey I have family and friends in the Navy who are stationed in virginia and i'm coming to visit this july. My cousin wants to take me to buckroe beach and I was wondering if this was the best spot around the area to surf?? I was also going to bring my board with me but only if it's going to be worth it. If anyone has any info or advice I would love to hear from ya.
