Bring your funshape, longboard, shortboard. June through July is average 3 foot. But August and September are pretty big because of hurricane season. Winter swells are nice, but bring a fullsuit because the water is 44 degrees in winter.
Atmosphere
The localism here is pretty calm, except for a little tension between shortboarders and longboarders. I would have to say that IR is a pretty mellow place.
General
IR Inlet has some pros and cons. Pros are the constantly changing waves and mellow locals. Cons are crabs, stingrays, sealice, and occasionaly shorebreak.

POOP - IRI is ok sometimes it goes off on some bigger days it used to break like an angel when it was pretty shallow way out.. But it breaks for a sometimes left and right by the jetty and if you walk about 200 yards maybe further down the beach theres a nice spot where it coves out and can hollow out and break for some long rides sometimes.. MAHALO!
