Good point break just south side of the cape. Works only whent the sandbars are roght on a W or WNW swell.
this is mellow break with a few locals, no bad vibes really, just a bunch of longboarders enjoying themselves.
The cove is sheltered from N and NW winds.
when you get into the parking lot look south as well there are a couple good beach breaks as well, they're right there if you take a minute to look. the large monolyth is pretty cool to look at when you surf.
Atmosphere
chill vibe, cool contest in the summer lots of fun!The people are pertty nice out there. I didnt expierence any localism. surf respect and have fun. seems to be the motto out there at PACIFIC CITY.
General
in general... this is a decent spot to surf and speciall if you have kids. There is a lot to check out with shops and the sandunes. enjoy!

14 yr old ran over by boat - On July 7th, during an 8 to 10 ft swell, a 14 year old boy from Bend, OR was ran over by a dory boat while in the lineup and had his arm severed off. Though the boat captain failed to follow rules and signal his approach with a horn, no charges are being filed. Local media reports of the event are biased in favor of the rule breaking dory. A number of ideas are being discussed by officials to reduce the chance of another accident including the option of black-balling all surfers 1000 feet south of the cove in Pacific City.

How's this place in the Winter? - I spent some time here in summer 07, thought it was a great little wave for longboarders. How is it in the winter months (December - March)? Is it a blowout like most of washington and western canada?
