- Localism
This place is OK. The whole beach/island is accessible to surf. Best with North wind and a low front with powerful storms that have just moved off the coast. Or of course with a summer hurricane. When it gets good it is pretty fun. Don't be a dick tourist if you come though...or you will get yelled at.
Atmosphere
General
Fun when it gets good. General atmosphere is nice...many groms and old guys.

Not so good - This beach gets good waves occasionally, but it is blocked from getting most East and NE swells from Cape Lookout. If you don't believe me, get a map. It is lacking in power unless there is a huge storm near by and rarely gets hollow. Hatteras is your best bet for barrels and power. You really have to know how to watch the weather for waves on the East coast.

whatever - It does seem to line up and hold long period swell better than WB as anything over 3 ft closes out down here. Rare, but happens. Consistent summer surf for sure.
