lots changed since then - nobody's local there, even no matter how long any of us has really lived there(near there!). theres some choice days to be there and some not so choice days. somedays its bad when all the whiney shredders come out play and days when 4 and 5 people try to jump the same wave and let's not forget all the really old dudes that still think they can surf to pick up chicks...anyway! during this time lifeguards block off a section of the beach just for surfers to kill each other and the bather lamers are kept out of the area for their safety.its easy to become a regular at red reef by being there and making nicey~nice polite with everyone. i wonder why the pirates choose to come here so long ago? the history about this stretch of coastline north and south on A1A is enlightning ,which is complete with tons of hearsay legends. and i'm sure the weather patterns and the waves played major part about the appeal of the pompano/lighthouse point/boca-delray beaches.
