DONT SURF HEar - the waves ALWAYS suk. I gaurante if its good itbs etter at berts or on IOP and the CURRENT is literrly deadly. A bunch of people drown there. Its actually illegal to go ther u can get fined 500 bucks NOT WORTH IT!!! I live on that end of SI so i know DONT SURF THERE EVER!!!

- I lived there my whole childhood, and my family still lives there, Berts is way better, 3rd bar broke maybe a handful of times a year, and the bars one the IOP side got good even less times than that. Not to mention I saw at least two drownings every summer from the undertow in the inlet itself, plus when you are out there, stingrays and sharks are only magnified bc you will be the only person out there, FAR from the beach. And if you are going to give it go, dropping to slack tides are the best, the currents are moving out to sea, and create rips that peak up the swells, and the sand bars are more exposed. NOT A BEGINNER SPOT, and not really a great surf spot anyway, maybe twice a year. Good if you're a windsurfer.
