This spot is good during a hurricane swell when the swell's right offers nice tubes.
Atmosphere
Welcoming locals in a laid-back atmosphere. Great camp spots near beach.

Photos in the swamp... - This photo was taken back in March of 1999. This is a dawn patrol shot. I used to surf there for about 3 years from 1996-1999. I caught some fantastic days there; it's really out of sight when you catch it good. The thing that really bugged me, was how drastically the tide affects the waves. It's a mid-tide-only spot.Being up in the Lakes now, Hunting's craptastic surf preparred be for the never-ending flat spells, "mediocore" waves, and stoked-out-of-their-mind surfers, just like we have here on the Great Lakes.

Surfboard Rentals?? - I am visiting my Mom who recently moved from Virginia to Beaufort, SC. I am coming from Nor Cal and debating bringing a board with me. Is there a rental shop in case there is swell/hurricane where I can grab a board? Is it worth it this time a year to bring one with me? Any help that can be provided is appreciated. Stoked to surf the South!
