Way too crowded - This place has become locals only. Localism is pretty extreme and can get violent. Often there can be 75 people on one side of the pier hugging 2 peaks. check out some of the other spots cuz this one is just so overcrowded even on the shittiest days. 7 people went to the hospital on 1 swell from either being run over by kooks or logs. you can pretty much count on somebody dropping in on you and also getting heckled to the point where your session is trashed. definitely not worth the hassle

Freakin unreal - Wow, those waves look pretty perfect to me. Wish I would of flown there for the week. Prey for surf. Out here in So-Cal its pretty bleak at the moment. Wish I was riding one of those a-frames.

Good Experience - I just came back to surfing after a 10 year hiatus. I live near the pier so I hit it up. I found the crowd to be friendly and pretty tolerant of my newbness. I'm also aware of the fact that I'm re-learning and I try to respect other people. Perhaps this is why I didn't run into the problems that the other poster did. I surf a 9'0 so I'm on the outside of the pack and try to stay out of the way.
