itacarééééééé - Loved Itacare, nice waves, good parties lots of nice brasileras ;o) Was there in March, planned to stay for a 3 days stayed for 2 weeks. Waves every day if you know where and when to go but not much good size in summer (max head high). I wasn’t partying that much as surfing a lot but there are parties every night. The second beach tiririca is an epic place has some kind of waves every day and it was a 10 min walk from where I was staying. Its the best beach so its the locals spot, but no probs if you show respect. There are 3 or 4 beaches walking from town (don’t mis praina beach), and then about 4 or 5 (itacarzina, enginocha)more after a 10 minuite bus ride. Check when is the best time to go. They say that in winter the river break here gives a 300m ride when the swell is up, jump in by therocks are by the lighthouse, end up the other side of the river. Stayed in a sweet hostel called The Palmtree (I think its kinda new) on the main street owned by an Irish guy who surfs so he could give lots of info on where is good , pretty basic hostel but clean and a nice crowd, but cheapest by far, thepalmhostel@gmail.com, pleanty of travellers staying there. They’ve got a campsite with hammocks to “relax” in. So yeah, definitely recommend itacare, only problem you mightn’t want to leave.
