Atmosphere
You can only get there by boat or plane, no crowds at all, so bring your friends if you don t wnt to surf alone. It does not break very often, but with a nice swell you can get rides of 350 mts.
don t expect big hotels
good green buds all over
friendly people but watch out because the political situation in colombia is not easy.

40 years ago - I lived in columbia about 40 years ago. My dad worked there. We live in Buenavantura for about 2 years, we used to go to Juancho every other weekend. There was only one large hut for meals and their was about 6 small huts for us to sleep in. I was not very popular back then. We used to have camp fires on the beach every night that we were their. The air strip was not even their it just in the being thought about. I would love to take my husband their for him to see what it was like back then. It sounds like it has become a popular place to visit now.
