To access the spot you must walk from a town called La Entrada (another surf spot) and walk to the spot (impossible to use car here). It's a good walk because you have to walk on rocks and remember to go at low tide. The other way is by the street but then it's hard to find a parking spot. Ask natives for La Rinconada and they will be more than happy to take you. Don't park your car on the beach, dont leaves things lying around. to surf it, go when there is low tide and wait until the tide rises fully, waves start coming in, its a bit of a long wave so u may have fun on it, the best side is left because on your right you have big sharp dangerous rocks.Don't park your car on the beach, don’t leave things lying around. Beware - This spot is good, but if there are more than 3 people it is crowded, 5 is a zoo.I have bounced off the rocks here, actually, anyone who surfs here is going to get bounced. If you do, take off your leash or you will get pinned on the rocks and flogged. I have some nice scars from the barnacle covered rocks... which stick out even at high tide.It is a short short ride and a long hike. This spot used to be a secret, I'd skip it now.

sounds like byron - Hola, this is my first post, what made me descide to register was what (LOCAL) SAID ABOUT HIS TOWN AND HIS CONCERN FOR ITS FUTURE......I dunno, personnally you either love or hate places like Montanita and I fall into the latter catagory. Most of the locals are fine but a handfull are far worse than the travelling space-cadets who frequent it..Please Montanita is nuthn like Byron Bay and if places like la entrada end up like montanita it will stuff up everything that is good about the place.............I will be in ecuador mid aprilo travelling with another aussie surfer and staying mainly in manabi provence, anyone wanna hook up and get some waves let us know....... brett
