A couple of kms north of Puerto Viejo (69km south of Lima) is a beach called 'Las Tres Islas' which is accessed by the beach of 'Las Gramitas' The entrance has a barrier which you should be able to talk you way through - this is a 'private' beach resort - but not totally inaccesible..
